Court grants ex-governor of Imo State (Ohakim) N270m bail

The court reached the decision on Thursday, July 9, 2015, while also ordering Ohakim to produce a surety resident in Abuja to serve as his guarantor.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted former Imo State Governor, Ikedi Ohakim, bail in the sum of N270 million.
The court reached the decision on Thursday, July 9, 2015, while also ordering Ohakim to produce a surety resident in Abuja to serve as his guarantor.
Presiding judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, also ordered the the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), ‎which filed the case against the former governor, to submit his passport and other travel documents seized from him to the Deputy Chief Registrar of the court.
The EFCC, on Wednesday, July 8, arraigned Ohakim after accusing him of committing fraud to the tune of N270m.
