World Boxing Organization have officially decided to take back its 147-pound belt from the undefeated Boxer (Mayweather) due to lack of compliance.
American undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather might lose his WBO (World Boxing Organization) Welterweight title which he won by beaten Manny Pacquiao on Many 2.
Mayweather according to ESPN's Dan Rafael,
World Boxing Organization have officially decided to take back its
147-pound belt from the undefeated Mayweather due to lack of compliance
on the part of the 28-year-old boxer.
The boxer declined to pay the $200,000 sanctioning fee for the title by the deadline and have also not vacated the WBA and WBC junior middleweight titles as boxers are not allowed to hold world championship in multiple weight classes.
The
WBC and WBA have been breaking their own rules by allowing Mayweather
to hold their titles, but the WBO has declined to break its rules for
Mayweather and it has told him he must make a decision.
President
of the WBO, Francisco "Paco" Valcarcel told ESPN that that if
Mayweather did not comply with the rules he would be stripped if he
missed the deadline on Monday.
On June 27, Timothy Bradley Jr. won
a unanimous decision against Jessie Vargas to win the vacant WBO
interim welterweight title in a fight initially announced as being for
the vacant full title -- until Mayweather's change of heart. At that
point it was reduced to an interim title bout. If Mayweather is indeed
stripped, Bradley will be elevated to the organization's full
titleholder.
